Juillian's aim is to support her clients in a safe confidential environment and she follows an integrative style of therapy to effectively aid their healing or personal growth & development.

As a qualified educator and therapist Jillian aims to offer physical, emotional and spiritual support, healing and guidance using the following therapies: -

Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy

Jillian has treated a variety of concerns and conditions, she has worked with Individual clients, couples and groups on a variety of issues including phobias, anxiety, stress, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, motivation and improving confidence, she has worked with family/relationship and sexualy related issues to mention a few. The use of hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a powerful combination for changing unwanted thoughts and/or behaviour.

Jillian completed 280 hours of clinical experience and successfully passed a practical, oral and theoretical examination in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy in 1999. This included dream analysis, hypno-healing, hypno-analysis, past-life regression, to mention a few. Jillian had previously been in practice as a counsellor for three years.

The word hypnotherapy is based on the term hypnosis, which is derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning sleep. The term was invented in the 19th century by James Braid (1795-1860), a Scottish surgeon working in Manchester.

A trance state is a condition in which the body and mind are calm and relaxed, unlike stage hypnotherapy the individual remains in control at all times. Within this deeply relaxed meditative state the subconscious mind is accessed, bypassing the conscious logical mind. It is the subconscious mind, sometimes known as the old brain, that enables healing and insight into the individual’s difficulties; reprogramming the subconscious mind has amazing and far-reaching effects. The subconscious mind knows what the body needs to be healed, most symptoms originate from a deep-seated emotional or psychological cause.

Counselling

Jillian trained as a counsellor in 1996, she aims to support. The Humanistic School of counselling focuses on the supportive relationship between the therapist and the client. This can be likened to a stake placed next to a rose bush to support its growth and development. However as a Therapist Jillian follows an integrative style of counselling as from her experience she has found that clients benefit from a variety of different approaches and styles.

Within the Psychotherapy School of counselling the therapist takes a journey back with the client to examine their childhood and significant relationships within their family of origin. This can be compared to digging down to examine the roots of the rose bush.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) enables clients to change behaviours that are unhelpful or disempowering. It also facilitates the client to see the result of their behaviour thus they can make an informed conscious decision to continue or change. “Change a thought, change a behaviour.” Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can be compared to a trellis placed to encourage and direct a climbing rose.

Kinesiology

Jillian has been practicing Kinesiology since 1989. Kinesiology can be used for a variety of purposes; preventative measures, a regular body MOT, diagnosis and treatment of imbalance weakness or blockage; emotional and stress-related disorders; food sensitivity or intolerance.

Kinesiology was developed by a Chiropractitioner called George Goodheart in 1964, based on the research findings of Dr. Chapman and Osteopath Terrence Bennet. Dr Chapman researched the lymphatic points and the positive benefits on the body of massaging these points. Lymphatic drainage removes toxins from the body and increases the efficiency of the immune system. Mr Bennet researched the effects of applying fingertip pressure to the head to increase the circulation to specific areas.

These two techniques and further training in acupuncture gave George Goodheart the basics of Kinesiology. Groups of muscles are tested by applying gentle pressure. The response gives the practitioner the information needed to treat the client appropriately.

Reiki

Jillian became a Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) Healer in 1996 and has had the honour of teaching Reiki and attuning many individuals and groups into the art and practise of Reiki.

Reiki releases blocked energy to create a state of harmony, balance and deep relaxation. It is so gentle that it is suitable and effective for pregnant women and babies it is a simple yet powerful process that can be learned by anyone.

Reiki can be either channelled by the therapist through their hands to the client - natural hands on healing technique - or directed to the client without the use of direct touch. The Reiki energy goes to where it is needed the most by the recipient. It is possible to heal at all levels; physical, emotional and spiritual.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. Rei means supernatural force or spiritual intelligence and Ki means life energy. Thus Reiki is a spiritually guided beautiful, subtle energy. Reiki healing was evolved from the Ling Chi of the Chinese Taoist and the experiences of Dr. Mikado Usui in the 1800’s. Dr. Usui undertook extensive research into historical, religious and spiritual healers; he dedicated his life to teaching and practicing Reiki.

Jillian qualified as a Bach Flower Practitioner in 1998. These remedies are useful to restore a state of equilibrium into ones life by gently removing any negative states of mind and restoring a positive outlook. Bach Flower Remedies can help us to live emotionally healthy lives, to cope with the stress and strain of everyday living and the extra demands that life sometimes throes our way

Dr. Bach was a highly qualified Medical Practitioner, Homeopath and Bacteriologist in the 1920’s & 1930’s, who was a forerunner in research-based practice. Dr. Bach developed an holistic approach to his practice, as he felt the practitioner should aim to heal the individual and not the disease. Dr. Bach dedicated his life to developing the Bach Flower Remedies, these 38 remedies are Homeopathic type Remedies. Rescue Remedy is probably the most commonly known, this contains 5 of the 38 remedies.

Indian Head Massage

Jillian trained in this ancient Ayurvedic form of healing and relaxation, Indian Head massage in 1998. An Indian Head massage incorporates not only massage of the head, but also the face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. The massage technique stimulates the circulation, releases muscle tension and toxins and improves the lymphatic drainage system. Indian Head massage focuses on the muscles most commonly affected by stress.

Indian Head massage should also incorporate the balancing of the recipients subtle energies as in Reiki, thus there is more to this therapy than the physical massage technique. It is fantastically relaxing and can stand alone as a therapy or complement other therapies, as it can be experienced within the same session as any of the other therapies.
